Information sessions for Triratna Chairs
“Perfect Livelihood, stands for the transformation of our whole collective existence, our whole social life, our whole communal life, and not just for the economic aspect itself.
In other words this step or this stage or aspect of the path stands for the creation of an ideal society.”
– Sangharakshita, 1968
Work takes up a substantial amount of most people’s time. Whatever job we engage in, especially if done for many years, leaves a lasting imprint on both our body and mind. Therefore making our work a “Right Livelihood” is crucial for spiritual progress. However, there are a number of reasons why committed people in our community are unable to work in Team-Based Right Livelihood (TBRL).
“Work a Day for the Dharma” offers a meaningful solution accessible to all, irrespective of location, occupation, or living situation. Individuals pledge to donate the equivalent of one day’s income each month to any Triratna charities and centre of their choosing. In this way, people can work for the Dharma whatever their job is.
We’re building a community of these ‘Dharma-workers’ who, while working separately, come together for the Dharma through shared meditations, study sessions, and, eventually, retreats.
Please come along to one of three 90-minute online sessions hosted by Jnanadhara (International Movement Coordinator), with friends from Future Dharma – Varabandhu, Kusalaraja and Nandavajra. During these sessions you’ll hear how this bold new initiative will work and how centres, and centre chairs, will be supported if they wish to take part.
