Future Dharma exists to create an abundantly funded, effective and well-resourced Triratna community. Since 2016, we have raised over £1 million for Dharma projects and become Triratna’s principal international fundraising and grant-making body.
We are now looking for someone to help shape the next stage of our development by leading our communications and fundraising work.
This role does not require someone who already has extensive professional fundraising experience. Fundraising knowledge can be learned. What matters most is finding the right person: someone intelligent, capable, values-led, and able to build genuine relationships with others.
You may be right for this role if you are a strong communicator, enjoy connecting with people, can think strategically, and are able to work independently with care, initiative and follow-through. You will need to be able to understand Future Dharma’s vision, communicate it clearly and inspiringly, and help others connect with the opportunity to practise generosity.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering Future Dharma’s fundraising and communications strategy, building relationships with supporters and donors, and helping create a stronger culture of generosity across Triratna.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate successful professional experience in any relevant field, especially where this has involved communication, relationship-building, project leadership, strategic thinking, or working with people in a thoughtful and sensitive way.
Experience in fundraising, major donor work, digital communications, legacy giving, grant-making, or Triratna institutions would be an advantage, but it is not essential. More important is your willingness and ability to learn, your capacity to take responsibility, and your inspiration for Future Dharma’s work.
You will join a small, committed team working in the spirit of Buddhist Right Livelihood, with opportunities for professional development, retreat practice, and meaningful collaboration.
Applicants should be a committed Triratna Mitra who, ideally, has asked for Ordination, or a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order.
